Caledonia Spirits, producer of Barr Hill Gin, “America’s Most Awarded Gin” operates from a state-of-the-art distillery located in Montpelier, Vermont which includes a tasting room, retail shop, corporate offices and event space. Caledonia Spirits was founded on a vision to support working landscapes and local agriculture by making Barr Hill craft spirits from regional raw materials. Barr Hill Gin with its honey base and juniper forward profile, produced in a custom-built botanical extraction still, has won more awards than any other American gin company.
Caledonia Spirits has developed “Bees Knees Week” a nationwide celebration of the traditional bee’s knees cocktail, the importance of bees in our food and drink system and a community of bar tenders working together to save the bees. In 2021 this celebration resulted in 200,000 square feet of pollinator habitat saved with 1,900 participating bars, restaurants and spirit shops across 33 states and provinces.
FreshTracks first invested in the company in 2017, leading the Series A round of capital and has invested in the Series B round of capital from both FreshTracks IV, and the FreshTracks Growth Fund.
